An investigation is underway on Wednesday morning after a shooting sent a man to the hospital, according to Tulsa Police.
According to police, officers were near the area of East 31st Street and South Mingo Road around 2 a.m. when they heard shots fired. Police say shortly after, someone called 911 about a shooting in the area.
Officers say the victim was shot in the leg while standing near a car. Police say the car also had bullet holes in it.
According to police, witnesses on the scene said they heard a car drive off after the shooting.
The investigation is still underway, but police say they believe the victim may have fired back.
"We believe there's a high possibility he did return fire. It's still early we are trying to figure out what exactly occurred here," said Cpt. Jeremy Noland.
Police say they are now investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at (918)-596-COPS.
