The ORU Golden Eagles have knocked off TCU in the first game of the College World Series. The family of one player gathered at Elgin Park in Downtown Tulsa to watch the action unfold on the big screen.

“My nephew’s on the team,” said Bryan Casey, the uncle of ORU player Pepe Casey. “They’ve had an unbelievable season so we thought we’d come out and support them since we can’t be there."

Five other former Owasso Rams are on rosters on three different teams in the tournament.

Owasso coach Larry Turner mentored those players.

“They’re great players,” said Turner. “They’ve accomplished a dream now, so it’s exciting.”

The Golden Eagles now advance to the winner’s bracket and play again Sunday.
