Tree services are busy all across Tulsa, working to remove debris from people's homes and properties.
Many people in Tulsa love their tall old-growth trees, but after Saturday night's storm, they've become a major problem.
For many Tulsans, this is a familiar sight: trees and limbs covering streets, roads, and houses.
Eric Warren lives near 21st and Peoria and said the damage is unlike anything he's ever seen.
"This tree also had some limbs fall off, which came down here and then across the street," he said.
Warren said luckily his house wasn't hit by any trees, but his neighbor wasn't so fortunate.
"That whole tree probably weighs 20 thousand pounds in the case of this job we're at right now. That's like dropping four cars on top of your house or on top of you," said Todd Rickert with Rickert Tree Services.
His tree service company is working to remove the giant tree from the neighbor’s backyard. He said jobs like this will keep them busy for weeks.
"Obviously this is an overwhelming situation for any local tree service including mine in Tulsa is gonna have so much work for the next several weeks. They're not gonna know what to do," he said.
Todd said when looking for a tree removal company, make sure they have liability and workers comp insurance and don't pay upfront for services.
“This is a perfect storm, no pun intended, for homeowners to get taken advantage of a get ripped off," he said.
He also warns about doing the work yourself if you're not experienced or don’t have the right equipment.
"We're gonna see more accidents and injuries and possibly even worse, with homeowners trying to do the work themselves that are doing something that don't deal with it every day. They could easily get killed or hurt," he said.
After seeing the damage at his neighbor’s and around the area, Eric Warren is glad to be safe.
"Honestly the first thing we thought was thank god we weren't injured and nothing worse happened,” said Warren.
