Tulsa Ballroom Holds Tribute Concert For Founder Of The GAP Band

Tulsa's historic Big 10 Ballroom is honoring the legacy of Tulsa's own Ronnie J. Wilson, founder of The GAP Band.

The tribute concert kicked off at 6 p.m. on Saturday with performers like Doc Shaw, Yarbrough and Peoples and more.

It was here in Tulsa where Wilson and his two brothers formed The GAP Band, which stands for Greenwood, Archer and Pine.

Wilson is credited for maintaining their fame during the 70s and 80s.

Ronnie J. Wilson passed away in Tulsa two years ago this month.
