Dancing with the Stars is coming to Bartlesville! It is not the hit TV show, but promises to be just as entertaining.
The event, in its eighth season, is a fundraiser for Paths to Independence, a school for students with autism.
Ashley Clark and Jordan Fulton teamed up for the competition. Ashley is the owner of Creative Health Pharmacy and Jordan is president of McIntosh Service. The pair had never met before but signed up to get more involved in their community.
"This is pretty new to me," Clark said. "I did cheerleading, but you know that was many, many years ago in high school."
It is a new experience for both of them. "Weddings, maybe, is about the only experience I have dancing," Fulton added.
Dancing with the Bartlesville Stars is on Saturday, Nov. 11th at the Bartlesville Community Center. Just like the TV show, these two must dance their way into the hearts of voters.
To put their best foot forward, the dancers hired a choreographer.
"We used a local choreographer, her name was Brittany Moore, and so she has been helping us with our music and our dance," said Clark.
The pair has been practicing for weeks, spending many late evenings at the dance studio. However, both said sharing about the cause has been their favorite part.
"Once I looked it up and learned more about what it was and then meeting some of the kids that go here, you know it just really hits home," Clark said.
"We come together on common ground and that is Paths To Independence and that is the area that we want to both just give back to," Fulton said.
Two-stepping out of their comfort zone to give the real stars of the show, the students, a brighter future.
Tickets to the event are sold out, but for a $50 donation, you can watch a livestream of the performances. You can purchase that and vote for your favorite HERE.
