ORU Rallies To Beat Texas Southern, 65-63

The ORU Golden Eagles rallied to beat SWAC preseason favorite Texas Southern, 65-63, Tuesday night at the Mabee Center on Native American Appreciation night.

The victory pushed ORU's home winning streak to 18 games.

Issac McBride led all scorers with 23 points, his third-straight 20-plus point outing. Jailen Bedford added a career-high 14 points, while DeShang Weaver chipped in 13. Weaver also recorded 3 blocks. That brings him to 18 blocks on the season, good for 1st in the nation.

For the first time this season, the Golden Eagles out-rebounded their opponent on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Bedford led ORU with nine rebounds for his career-high. 

Sir Issac Herron had a season-high five points, six rebounds and two blocks for the highest plus-minus statistic in the game for either team.

The Golden Eagles will head back out on the road next Tuesday to take on Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas.
