A cattle truck overturned on the northwest corner of the IDL in Tulsa on Friday morning.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. and blocked all lanes of traffic for several hours.
At 8 a.m., westbound I-244 opened on the north leg of the IDL. The westbound I-244 ramp to westbound US-412 eventually opened around 1 p.m. Police said they believe the early morning rain and cattle shifting in the semi caused the semi to turn over.
The driver of the semi is expected to be OK. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash. There were 25 cows and 14 bulls in the semi when it turned over, authorities said. Some cattle did not survive and some were injured, authorities said.
There were professional wranglers on the scene, working for hours to get those animals off the highway.
This is not the first time this year that a cattle truck has overturned in this area of I-244.
