A cold front is on its way to Green Country that could come as early as midnight.
There is a chance people could get snowed in during the weekend.
Reasor's on 41st Street and South Peoria Avenue was packed, and shoppers say finding a parking spot was a struggle. One grocery store worker shared with News on 6 that Thursdays are usually slow, but ahead of the cold weather people are piling in and stocking up.
Everyone including the smallest shoppers are making a mad dash to the store ahead of the incoming winter storm.
Mac, a second grader grabbing essentials with his dad said, "I'm looking for vegetables and stuff to stock up for the winter."
Another shopper, Portia Goff is doing the same, "I'm picking up a bunch of green vegetables today so I don't have to come back tomorrow, " said Goff.
She says a lot of shoppers around Tulsa had the same idea. This was the first store that had an open parking space. Goff said, "I had to drive around several times to grab a parking space actually went to the Reasor's on 15 and Lewis which is closest to my house then I came over here because there was hardly any parking space."
Portia said she was grabbing everything she needed so she didn't have to get back out. "I had come to the grocery store on Tuesday so I'm thinking it'll take us into the next week," said Goff.
She had one more stop before she headed home to hunker down. "I'm pretty cool with everything right now just going to go fill up my car hopefully we won't get too much snow but I like the winter."
On the menu this weekend for most shoppers we talked to? Chili. They were also stocking up on firewood.
