Whitetail Deer Rescued From Icy Pond In Sallisaw After Becoming Stranded

The warning to stay off the ice extends to more than just people, but animals too.

A whitetail deer ventured out on a frozen pond near Sallisaw and it was so slick, she kept falling and couldn't get back to land.

Someone saw her and called McKey Fire and Rescue for help.

The crew used an airboat to get to the deer, pulled her on the boat, and then helped her to get off safely on land.
