A Tulsa judge revokes all jail phone call privileges for a man charged with murdering three women. This is now the second time the judge has revoked Brooks' privileges.
News On 6 told you about Terryl Brooks last week, after he was charged again with assaulting jail staff, for the second time in two months.
Just six months ago, the judge yanked Brooks' phone privileges because prosecutors say he was calling and threatening witnesses in his murder case.
He was only allowed to call his attorney, but the judge said Brooks completely disregarded her orders and has made hundreds of calls since.
Brooks is now only allowed to use the jail phones for one hour, one day a week, to talk to his attorney.
A Tulsa homicide detective testified Thursday that she's listened to every call Brooks has made since he was booked into jail in 2022, except when he talks to his attorney.
After the judge ordered Brooks to only call his attorney last June, the detective said the jail blocked the numbers for all of Brooks' family and friends.
Prosecutors say Brooks has been dialing random numbers, hundreds of times over the last six months, and trying to get anyone who answers to put him on a three-way phone call with his family and friends.
The judge was stern with Brooks saying, "When I order you do to something, I expect you to abide," and then threatened to hold Brooks in contempt of court if doesn't follow her instructions.
Then, Brooks stood up in court and said out loud for everyone to hear that he recently used another inmate's account to video call his sister. Brooks' attorney agreed to the new phone rules, and said Brooks needs to follow the court orders.
