Local Flower Shop To Host Galentine's Party With Floral Arrangement Lessons

Chocolates, cards, and flowers are the most popular Valentine's Day gifts but sometimes experiences are more memorable.

Anthousai, a locally owned Tulsa flower shop, offers all of the above. Co-owners Katie Allen and Jenny Rausch met in the flower department at Whole Foods nearly a decade ago. They decided to branch out and start their own business creating floral arrangements for weddings and events.

Two and a half years ago the pair expanded their business further by opening a storefront in Kendall Whittier.

"Now that we have a storefront, too, it is fun because people can come in and shop for gifts, chocolate, and cards," said Allen.

Valentine's Day is a busy season for Anthousai. "We already have so many beautiful flowers coming in and so many beautiful options and if people can go ahead and pre-order then we can guarantee that we will make them something unique," said Allen.

They partner with farmers to use only locally grown flowers, a big separator from the big box stores.

"We are professionals, so we are taking care of every bloom, we are making sure that they are hydrated, we are making sure that we have the best of the best flowers," Allen continued saying, "We are also getting unique flowers and we are handcrafting them in an artistic way."

Allen and Rausch also teach that artistry to others through workshops that happen twice a month.

The next one is the "Brunch Floral Arranging and Charcuterie Workshop" on Sunday, February 18th. Allen said they have partnered with the team from Charcuteray so participants can learn both floral arranging and cheeseboard building.
