On Friday, people rang in the Lunar New Year on the TU campus.

The Lunar New Year is an important festival in many Asian countries where residents celebrate with wishes for good health, wealth and fortune.

The even included performances from the China Roses and a local dance group.

"I love seeing all the people coming together, celebrating, having fun, despite all the troubles that we see," said senior student Athan Lau. "And it's really nice to see everyone even those we haven't seen in a long time. Even students out of states come to visit us to celebrate over food, fun and activities together."

The event was presented with help from TU's American Asian Student Association, Vietnamese Student Association and Association of International Students.
