Gavin Sawchuk Added To Doak Walker Award Watch List

The Doak Walker Award is awarded each year to the best running back in college football. You can add another name to the 88 players so far on the watch list for the award in Gavin Sawchuck.

Even though last year's numbers were not award-winning, the third-year sophomore did lead Oklahoma in rushing yards last season. With an average of over 6 yards per attempt to go along with almost 750 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns, many feel a breakout season is possible for Sawchuk. Closing out the 2023 season, averaging over 123 yards per game, is one of the main reasons for optimism.

Sawchuk joins Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon on the watch list for the award.
