The Muskogee County district attorney has determined that the police shooting death of Matthew Lucht in July was justified.

District Attorney Larry Edwards said that his investigation found that Lucht, 24, tackled an officer, punched him, and tried to grab his rifle. Edwards said the officer then pulled out his pistol and shot Lucht twice.

The shooting happened on July 12 at Coco Bongos near Highway 69 in Muskogee. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said that deputies were responding to a possible armed robbery call at the gentlemen's club.

OSBI said that deputies performed lifesaving measures on Lucht before he died at the scene.
