Tulsa's Little Light House provides education and therapy to dozens of kids with developmental disabilities every year, all at no cost to families, but it wouldn't happen without donations.
Georgia Canady previewed the upcoming Market Sale that will be happening this weekend.
Little Light House is a Christian development center that provides education and therapeutic services to children with special needs at no cost to their families.
“It's the best place in the world, the happiest place in the world,” says Canady. "It's such an honor for me to be the senior director of development, not only to fundraise but to be an ambassador to the community, to show that our kids are just kids."
The Market Sale will feature arts, crafts, and other gently used items, as well as baked goods for sale. It will run on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5120 E 36th St. The event is part of a larger effort by the staff to raise $200,000, with $70,000 already secured.
“We would love for Tulsa to come out and support us,” says Canady shared.
For families interested in enrolling their children at Little Light House, says Canady encourages them to call the center for a tour or to join the waitlist. Beyond the market sale, there are other ways to get involved. Upcoming events include the "Laps for Little Ones" on October 12, honoring alumni, and a community luncheon on October 23.
