11 days of awesome starts Thursday with the Tulsa State Fair in town. It will open Thursday at noon and close around midnight.
There are more than 70 rides at the fair this year. The state's labor department inspectors spent this week making sure each ride is safe.
Organizers of the fair are expecting big crowds and long lines. General admission will cost you $15 at the gate.
Youth and seniors only have to pay $10. If you want to skip the line, it’s a good idea to purchase tickets online.
Amanda Blair, with the Tulsa State Fair, says you can bring your own bags, but no outside food, beverage, or alcohol is allowed. Oklahoma law prohibits guns on state fairgrounds, and security measures will be in place.
Blair says each day of the fair will feature something to enjoy.
”We have something for everyone out there on the midway and in the buildings. We have a lot of live entertainment every night at the Oklahoma stage. We have all sorts of local band entertainment at the international beer garden and the hard rock huddle. We also have exciting ground shows,” Blair said.

On-site parking is available for $20. The Tulsa State Fair transit system is offering a shuttle service from the TPS Service Center to the fairgrounds on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The gates and the buildings open at 11 a.m., but the midway with all the rides doesn't open until noon.
