Oklahoma State has been chosen to host several significant events: the 2027 Division I Men's Golf Regional and the 2027 Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, as well as the 2028 Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds at the BOK Center in Tulsa, the NCAA announced today.
While the BOK Center has previously hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2011, 2017, and 2019, this will be OSU's first time serving as the host institution.
“The first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament are among the most exciting four days in American sports,” said OSU Athletic Director Chad Weiberg. “We’re thrilled to host this event at the BOK Center.”
Karsten Creek Golf Course has a strong history of hosting NCAA Regional and Championship events, including the 2018 NCAA Championships, where Oklahoma State claimed the team title.
Since its opening in 2019, the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course has quickly gained recognition as one of the top on-campus cross country facilities in the nation. It previously hosted the NCAA Championships in 2020 and 2022 (the 2020 event took place in spring 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and has also welcomed the 2021 Big 12 Championship and the 2023 NCAA Midwest Regional, both of which will return in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
“We take great pride in our course and are immensely grateful to the Greiner Family for allowing us to bring top-tier cross country events back to Stillwater,” said OSU Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith. “We also extend our thanks to the NCAA Track & Field and Cross Country Committee for their trust in our capability to host a premier championship event.
