Friday is the last day to register to vote for people who want to vote in the November election.
Most election boards and tag agencies are closed for the day, but there is still time since the Rogers County Election Board is open until midnight Friday.
Many voters say it’s important, regardless of who you vote for, to make your voice heard. Registering to vote is the first step in doing that.
The Tulsa County Election Board was full of people who wanted to either register to vote or check and make sure their registrations are squared away for Election Day.
For some voters, like Julian Wycliffe-Williams, Friday was a big day.
"It's my first time registering to vote,” said Julian Wycliffe-Williams. “I'm married to a U.S. citizen, and I waited my five years and I got my citizenship in March, and so this was my first year being able to vote. From the country you're coming from, like I'm from South Africa, you were able to vote. But for five years, you're not able to vote here. So for me, I will be making my mark and giving an impact."
She says it was an easy and smooth process getting her registration done.
"She even said, 'Do you want me to check it and make sure it's right,' and I said, 'Yes please,”’ said Wycliffe-Williams. “She checked it. It literally took me two minutes to go in and come out. I am so impressed with this service."
Volunteers also lined the streets trying to get last-minute registrations.
People could fill out the forms there that were turned over and processed by the County Election Board.
"I think it's important for people to exercise the right to vote,” said Ed Rossman, a volunteer. “I see it as a civic obligation. It's important for their future as well as their children's future. My grandchildren's."
Voters say that it’s important to make sure your voice is heard because every vote counts- and everyone has a different perspective.
"This way, if things don't go the way I want them to, I can't blame myself,” said Rhonda Maslonka. “I've got to put my vote in in order to say, I was a part of."
Regardless of what county you live in, you can register at the Rogers County Election Board until midnight Friday.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
