Opening statement
"Just really proud of the players, thankful for all of their effort, leadership, their toughness and willingness to continue to work and develop. To get better, have the right kind of mindset, love the attitude going into into that game. Guys were fearless, they were prepared," continued Venables. "I thought we played confidently and aggressively. I thought the staff did a fantastic job on both sides of the ball, just having the guys ready to compete. Love, if you loved anything, the physicality and just the overall execution of both offense, defense and the kicking game. Just love the improvement. You know, there's you know, we challenge everybody."

On previous experience playing LSU and the toughest places he has ever coached.
“Playing in New Orleans against LSU twice for the national championship in ‘19 and ‘04 are probably the first two on that list,” Venables said. “And I mean that sincerely. It was deafening. Could not hear on the headsets.”

What did Brent Venables do with his family after the Alabama game? He went to Taco Bell. Monday night the head coach revealed he spent $94 with his daughters in the Taco Bell Drive-thru.
“The girls say, 'Let’s go to Taco Bell,' man, let’s go,” he said. “It was a long line, but it was worth the wait. It was so long I had to go inside and take a bathroom break while we waited for the food. We had to pull over; we ordered so much food that they couldn’t get it all ready. We ordered everything.”
“By the time I’m done with the radio show and a night game and with the media, with recruits and with the players and the staff and get in the car and get home, I’m ready to chew an arm off of somebody,” Venables said. “… Whatever they put inside of a tortilla, the crunchy stuff, man, it’s freaking... I have no idea what it was. We smashed that and had some fun. It was good, was worth the wait.”
