FC Tulsa has completed one of the most high-profile signings in USL Championship history, announcing the acquisition of South African midfielder Jamie Webber from Sekhukhune United F.C. of the DStv Premiership.
Webber, 27, arrives in Tulsa with an impressive résumé, having spent the past six seasons as a standout in South Africa’s top flight. A proven playmaker and seasoned competitor, Webber recorded four goals in his most recent 25-match campaign and has amassed 129 league appearances to date. His leadership on and off the pitch has also earned him caps with the South African national team, including a recent highlight-reel goal against Egypt in CHAN qualifying play.
“This is a landmark moment for FC Tulsa, not just as a club, but as a rising force in the American soccer landscape,” said Caleb Sewell, FC Tulsa Sporting Director and General Manager. “Jamie is a player of true international caliber, with a résumé that speaks for itself. His arrival in Tulsa is a reflection of how far our club has come and where we’re headed.”
Webber joins FC Tulsa as the most valuable player in the USL Championship, carrying a €1 million valuation via Transfermarkt. His technical ability, vision, and experience in high-stakes competitions—including the CAF Confederation Cup, Nedbank Cup, and MTN 8—will immediately elevate Tulsa’s midfield unit.
“Jamie brings leadership, experience, and creativity in the middle of the park,” Sewell added. “We believe he’ll elevate everyone around him. This signing signals our ambition, and we’re proud to welcome one of the most respected midfielders from the South African Premier Division into our ranks.”
Webber began his senior career in 2016 with Vasco da Gama in the South African National First Division. He quickly rose through the ranks with Stellenbosch and later joined SuperSport United in 2018, where he logged over 7,000 minutes, six goals, and 11 assists over four seasons. In 2019, he made the move to Sekhukhune United, solidifying his status as one of the Premiership’s most consistent midfielders.
With the addition of Webber, FC Tulsa signals a bold intent for the 2025 campaign and beyond—one that matches its growing reputation both on and off the field.
