The Thunder can sweep their first round opponent for the second straight year with a win on Saturday in Memphis. Ja Morant will not be available according to reports, for the Grizzlies after the hip injury he suffered in game 3 on Thursday night. OKC will have to try and limit Scotty Pippen Jr. who posted 28 points, five rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block in game 3. After Ja Morant exited with a left hip contusion late in the second quarter, Memphis lost its rhythm. Holmgren powered a 36-18 third-quarter run, and OKC scored the game's final nine points to seal the win.

The comeback was the second-largest in NBA playoff history, trailing only the Clippers’ 31-point rally against Golden State in 2019 — a team that featured a rookie Gilgeous-Alexander.

"If they could build it, we could erase it," Gilgeous-Alexander said.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault credited the second-half turnaround to “reconnecting,” while Holmgren pointed to the team’s trust in one another: "That's playing together and trusting that the next man is going to make the right play."

Oklahoma City is riding a six-game winning streak and is 33-8 on the road this year, winning by an average of 13. Grizzlies have not been great at home late in the season, going 4-7 in the last eleven games at FedEx.

Last Matchup

Chet Holmgren scored 23 of his 24 points in the second half as the Oklahoma City Thunder erased a 29-point deficit to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 114-108 Thursday night, seizing a 3-0 series lead.

Memphis led by 26 at halftime, but the Thunder stormed back, grabbing their first lead with 1:20 left on a Jalen Williams free throw. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 31 points, and Williams added 26.

The 29-point rally was the second-largest comeback in NBA playoff history since 1996-97.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant exited late in the second quarter with a left hip contusion after a collision with Lu Dort. Morant had 15 points and five assists before the injury.

Memphis, led by Scotty Pippen’s 28 points and Jaren Jackson Jr.’s 22, couldn’t hold off the Thunder’s furious second-half push.
