Ingredients:
1/3 cup egg substitute10 slices ready to serve bacon, crisp
4 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1/3 cup garlic and herb bread crumbs
2 pounds extra lean ground beef (96% fat-free)
Butter-flavored cooking spray
1 medium sweet onion, cut into rings
4-6 poblano peppers, cut into strips
8 multigrain hamburger buns
8 tablespoons canned tomatoes with green chilies, drained (divided use)
8 romaine lettuce leaves
Directions:
Preheat grill to medium-high heat
In a large mixing bowl stir together, egg, bacon, jalapeño, milk and bread crumbs.
Add ground beef and mix until combined.
Shape into 8 patties
Grill patties for approximately 6-8 minutes on each side until desired doneness or until meat thermometer reads at least 160 degrees.
Meanwhile in a small skillet sprayed with butter-flavored cooking spray sauté onion and poblano pepper over medium heat 8-10 minutes or until onion is tender
Serve each burger on a lettuce-lined buns topped with a tablespoon of tomatoes and pepper-onion mixture
