An Oklahoma Natural Gas employee is recovering at a hospital after being attacked by a dog. Tulsa Police say the worker went into the backyard of a Tulsa home near 33rd and South 125th East Avenue to read a meter, when a bull mastiff attacked him, breaking his right arm.

"It's a difficult situation for everybody, especially the pet. Everybody can have a pet; however, if there's any idea that it may injure somebody else, even if it's in the backyard, perhaps you can restrain the pet to some extent looking at their safety as well others. It's a fine line," said Tulsa Police Officer Ted Umbarger.

Police say the dog had all its shots and the owner was cooperative. Nonetheless, the dog was taken by animal control for a routine 10-day observation.
