A standoff in Sand Springs ended peacefully early Tuesday morning.

Police officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Redbud Court just before 2:00 a.m.

A man and a woman were barricaded in a bedroom and refused to come out when police arrived. A hostage negotiator eventually persuaded them to come out.

One loaded weapon was found in the room, along with a safe with more weapons. Police are not sure whether the guns were used in a hostile manner.

Police arrested the man. The woman told detectives that she was not being held against her will. Officers say if that's true she could face criminal charges for not responding to police.

Police say alcohol was involved in the dispute.
