Tulsa Public Schools is joining the push to get more boys involved in Boy Scouts. Several principals and Superintendent Michael Zolkoski showed support on Wednesday, as the district inked the deal with the Boy Scouts and the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.
The program will offer character education programs on everything from bullying to ethics and self esteem.
"We hope by doing this that we build not only the good quality of people that we have today, but we're building leaders of tomorrow," said Jim Holloman of Boy Scouts of America.
The Boy Scouts will now be able to reach out to boys at 36 elementary and six Tulsa middle schools.
