Tulsa Police officers have begun voting on whether they have confidence in Mayor Bill LaFortune.

The voting finishes Wednesday evening and members of the police union will count the ballots.

The vote comes after LaFortune put Police Chief Dave Been on paid leave a few weeks ago. The mayor says he did it because the Chief withheld a report critical of the Tulsa Police SWAT team.

Some members of the force say the suspension was politically motivated since the mayor is running for re-election.
