The mother of a murder victim says she's appalled Tulsa Police are connecting Prentiss Elliott in any way to her son's murder. 16-year-old Johnny Young was an innocent bystander when he was shot and killed February 11th at Lacy Park.

Police put in court documents Young was killed because of a gang feud. They say members of the Hoover Crips were targeting Prentiss Elliott and his fellow G-Unit gang members. Tulsa Police Sgt. Mike Huff: "I believe his brother was there. I don't know if Prentiss was there, but that's not the point. The people who were doing the shooting thought he was there. That's the relevant thing, their thoughts, what's in their minds, what motivated them to shoot."

Young's mother says Elliott is a young man trying to get his life on track, and police just want to see him dead or in jail. Wanda Young: "I don't know if Prentiss was there or not. It says Prentiss and others of G-unit. Don't use his name, just say that. Don't blame him for my child's death. He did not pull the trigger."

Tulsa Police say they're obligated to put facts learned through an investigation into court documents. They wrote what the shooting suspects told detectives.

Tulsa Police say they do not have a vendetta against Elliott. In fact, they have put three people in the Tulsa County jail who wanted to harm him.
