McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ McAlester lawmaker Terry Harrison says he's considering resigning from his Oklahoma House seat to be considered for the vacancy in the District 18 attorney's office.

Current District Attorney Chris Wilson announced his plans to resign effective April First.

Harrison tells the McAlester News-Capital he'll spend the week deciding if he will seek the governor's appointment to the office or wait and run in the general election in November.

He says it's also possible he'll seek re-election to his House seat in November.

He says the most difficult thing would be having to resign from his House seat in the middle of a legislative session if he should apply and get the appointment. The current legislative session is set to end in May.
