OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Legislation that would prohibit undocumented immigrants from receiving government aid was effectively killed today.

Senator Jeff Rabon was to carry the House-passed bill in the Senate, but he said he was withdrawing support for the measure because he found it exceedingly harsh.

Rabon said the measure goes too far because it would prohibit the state from offering humanitarian aid to undocumented immigrants.
