OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A bill expanding the legal use of deadly force in Oklahoma is now heading to the governor.
The state House Thursday passed the bill that allows the use of deadly force to protect oneself from attacks in the car or if visiting another person's home.
The bill expands the so-called Make My Day law that allows residents to use deadly force to protect themselves if someone breaks in their home whether an intruder uses deadly force or not.
Opponents of the bill say it could lead to shooting in the streets.
The bill would become law if signed by Governor Brad Henry.
