The Tulsa Union School board will honor a late civil rights icon with its newest elementary school. <br/><br/>Rosa Parks Elementary at 13702 East 46th Place South will be Union's 12th elementary school.

The Tulsa Union School board will honor a late civil rights icon with its newest elementary school.

Rosa Parks Elementary at 13702 East 46th Place South will be Union's 12th elementary school.

The school's principal says they wanted to name the school after someone that represented excellent character and who made a huge contribution to the world.

Rosa Parks Elementary will open this fall and allows the district to begin offering a free full-day kindergarten program.
