LITTLE ROCK (AP) -- A federal judge has set a May 17 hearing to consider Oklahoma wish to have farmers provide soil and other tests in a lawsuit over pollution from Arkansas affecting the Illinois River in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson is arguing that his request is a valid one for farmers to conduct tests on soil, poultry litter and water on their fields.
Federal Magistrate Judge Sam A- Joyner has set a May 17th hearing to consider the subpoenas to conduct the sampling and objections from farmers and poultry companies.
