OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A coalition of education, health care and public safety providers urge lawmakers to reject deep tax cut plans and invest surplus state revenue in programs that serve Oklahoma's most vulnerable citizens.

The coalition's letter to state lawmakers warns against sharp cuts in state revenue, calling them shortsighted and irresponsible.

Lawmakers are attempting to write the largest budget in state history -- about $7-billion, including $1-billion in surplus revenue and windfalls fueled by strong economic growth.
