The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office held a memorial service Friday for deputies killed in the line of duty.

The ceremony was held at Chandler Park Friday afternoon. They laid roses for 12 deputies who were either killed in action or died while still on the force.

May is the national month set aside to honor all law enforcement officers who paid the ultimate price for justice.

Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz: "When you have someone die suddenly in the line of duty it's very traumatic to officers so to honor these people is very appropriate."

Two other deputies who past away this year were also honored.

National Police week starts May 14th.
