SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) -- An Oklahoma City man dies after a two-vehicle accident on a Creek County highway.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that 19-year-old Patricia Mae Lucas of Ripley was driving westbound on State Highway 33 Sunday afternoon when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit a small mail box.

Her vehicle then re-entered the roadway in a broad slide and was struck by an eastbound car driven by 61-year-old Vernon Leon Rider of Oklahoma City.

Rider was pronounced dead at the scene while Lucas was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.
