The city of Tulsa has a new weapon against dangerous criminals. The News on 6 rode along for Operation Bullet Trap.

Nearly 40 Tulsa officers, supervisors, sheriff’s deputies, and ATF agents patrol the streets armed with special intelligence and a list of suspects, cars and houses. They all have one goal in mind, to reduce violent crime on city streets.

Tulsa Police Captain Nick Hondros with Operation Bullet Trap: "we've been able to target people of interest people, people that are currently suspect in a crime or people with a history of violence. We're able to take an aggressive look at those individuals and remove them from the community."

Tulsa Police say these efforts and the extra presence on the streets are making the community safer. Nearly 130 people have been arrested as a result of Operation Bullet Trap.

Authorities have also confiscated guns, drugs, and money.

Officers tell the News on 6, Operation Bullet Trap will continue as long as it's needed.
