Former Tulsa County Assistant District Attorney Brett Swab announced his candidacy for Tulsa County District Attorney Thursday.

Swab worked as a prosecutor under David Moss and Bill LaFortune. He says since 2001, Tulsa County has filed 1,500 less cases a year.

"What I would want to do is try to go back in and re-establish communication with the police department, streamline the office, get the budget under control, hire some experience prosecutors and get after it."

Swab will run against current Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris in the election in July.
