FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) A three-run homer by Chad Rothford in the eighth inning helps Oral Roberts beat top-seeded Oklahoma State 9-to-2 in the championship round of the NCAA baseball tournament's Fayetteville Regional.

The regional crown is the first ever for third-seeded Oral Roberts, which went 3-and-0 in regional play. ORU hadn't even won consecutive regional games since 1987.

Oklahoma State left 10 baserunners stranded in a game Sunday night that ended the Cowboys' season. OSU's 41 wins was its most in a season since recording 42 in 2001.

The Golden Eagles went 4-and-0 this season against OSU and will play Friday in a super regional against either Clemson or Mississippi State.

If ORU wins the super regional, the Golden Eagles would reach the College World Series for only the second time in school history. The first time came in 1978.
