McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- A McAlester man has been found dead in the Pittsburg County Jail.

Undersheriff Richard Sexton says Carl Talley was found about 5 Sunday afternoon sitting in the corner of the jail's visiting area with a telephone cable wrapped around his neck. Talley was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at a McAlester hospital.

Authorities say Talley was arrested about noon Sunday for driving under the influence and was placed in a locked area of the visiting room after threatening jail personnel and another inmate.

Sexton says Talley was last seen alive about 3:30 PM Sunday.
