An expensive bass boat stolen early Thursday morning from Nichols Marine in Tulsa has been returned to the dealership.

The News on 6 was the only TV station on the scene when it was found near 19th Street and 71st East Avenue.

Tulsa Police say they got a call at about 4 AM Friday from a Tulsa resident. He found the $53,000 yellow bass boat in his neighborhood.

The boat is missing its motor and several other items. The resident says he doesn't think it could have been in the road for long.

Larry Walls: "I was on the way home from work, and come around the corner, and the boat was sitting in the middle of the road all most. Then I pulled over in front of it so no one would hit it and called the police."

Walls says he recognized the boat from News on 6's news story. Tulsa Police called the dealership to return the boat.

The boat is one of just 30 boats like it in the world. It was used in a fishing tournament in Pennsylvania just a few months ago.
