(Fort Gibson-KOTV and AP Reports) -- A 13-year-old boy is in custody after shooting four Fort Gibson middle school students shortly before 7:45 a-m this morning. A fifth student reportedly suffered bumps and bruises. Paramedics say none of the injuries are life-threatening. Muskogee County Sheriff's Deputy Terry Cragg says middle school student Seth Trickey emptied the nine-millimeter gun and was still trying to pull the trigger when subdued by the school’s safety officer.

Cragg says he spoke to the suspect who is in an isolation cell at the Muskogee County jail. Cragg says Trickey did not appear remorseful. He says the suspect does not know who it was he shot. Trickey told Cragg he didn't know why he did it. Tulsa Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Tyra Palmer says a 12-year-old boy is in fair condition there with gunshot wounds to both arms. Saint Francis Hospital spokeswoman Melissa Bogle says a 12-year-old girl is in fair condition there with a gunshot wound to the cheek. A Muskogee Regional Medical Center spokesman says two victims were brought there. 13-year-old Cody Chronister has a gunshot wound to the forearm and 13-year-old Billy Railey
was wounded in the leg.

Superintendent Steve Wilmoth says the shooting appears to be random. Wilmoth says although the school has a plan for this sortof emergency, he's not sure a school district can ever make schools totally safe. Authorities were not aware of any previous trouble involving the teen and say school officials had no indication of violence. Students began screaming when the shooting occurred and were immediately brought into the school building.

Lieutenant Jack Mike of the Muskogee County sheriff's office says officers at first thought the frantic nine-one-one call about the shooting was a hoax. The first call came from a student at about 7:45 a-m. Fort Gibson is about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa. About 450 students attend the middle school. Wilmoth says the community of about 3,500 is a close-knit community.

The annual Christmas parade scheduled tonight in downtown Fort Gibson has been cancelled.
