(Troy, Texas-AP) -- A Texas man who plans to ride horseback to the all the state capitals in the lower 48 states is to stop in Oklahoma soon.

Gene Glasscock visited Austin, Texas, earlier this week making it the 29th state capital he's visited.

The next stop is to be Oklahoma City and Glasscock is planning a trip to Frederick where the Long Riders Guild is building a monument to brothers Bud and Temple Abernathy.

The Abernathys were the sons of Oklahoma Federal Marshal Jack Abernathy. Bud was 9 and Temple was 5 when they rode by themselves from Frederick to Santa Fe and back on a horse named Sam Bass.

Glasscock is using the trip to raise awareness of a program at Pensacola Christian College in Florida. The program provides an education for students from Paraguay if they sign a contract promising to return to Paraguay when school is finished.
