Downtown Tulsa is putting its best foot forward these days with lots of new sidewalk and street-scaping improvements.
Most of the improvements are being made on downtown's east side, where an ever-growing number of clubs and restaurants are popping up. Downtown boosters say the lighting and sidewalks make it safer and more attractive and will draw even more people downtown.
They say it's a refreshing change to go back to the concept of walk able communities. Downtown developer, Michael Sager: "We continue to build superhighways all over the place to replace roads, but we don't replace roads that let people move from building to building."
The money for the improvements comes from various sales taxes.
