(Guthrie-AP) -- A Guthrie school bus driver is out of a job after his arrest during a recent field trip with elementary students.

The Guthrie School Board voted last night to fire Jerry Michael Carrier, who was arrested for shoplifting during the trip. Carrier was arrested last Thursday at Bass Pro Shop in Oklahoma City for allegedly trying to take a 15-dollar pair of sunglasses.

Another driver was brought to Oklahoma City to drive the fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders home from the field trip.
