SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) _ The body of a Terlton man who disappeared while trying to help his son out of Lake Keystone last weekend was recovered Friday morning, authorities said.

John R. Schwarz was found 100 yards east of Hayden Cove in Creek County, the Oklahoma Lake Patrol reported.

Schwarz, 44, was found about 400 yards south of Salt Creek, where he was last seen about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Divers found his body after it floated back to the surface, the lake patrol said.

Witnesses said Schwarz and his son were in the creek when the 7-year-old boy drifted away from the boat, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Schwarz jumped in to help the boy, as did a 19-year-old man.

The 19-year-old man and the boy got out the water safely but Schwarz didn't, OHP Lt. Brandon Kopepasah, a spokesman, said.

Schwarz's body was taken to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa, the lake patrol said.
