OKLHOMA CITY (AP) -- Newborn Oklahomans were most likely to be named either Jacob or Emily in 2003.

Of the 50,222 babies born in the state during the year, those are the most popular boys' and girls' names.

The state Health Department and the Social Security Administraition said there were a record 6,619 different names chosen for girls and 4,417 different names for boys.

Of the boys, 400 were named Jacob while 308 girls were named Emily.

The second most popular boys' name is Ethan, followed by Josua, Michael and Caleb.

Madison is number two on the list for girls, followed by Emma, Hannah and Abigail.

Parents also found some unusual names for their children, including Ocean, Aries, Scout, Americas, Denim, Shy, Prosperity, Purity, Courageous, Sincerely, Unity, Vanity, Divine, Knowledge, Ozzy, Geronimo, Whisper and Bamm Bamm.
