The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are advising campers and boaters about new water hazards at lakes across eastern Oklahoma this week. Corps officials say recent rains have caused most of the lakes in eastern Oklahoma to rise, causing new hazards for boaters. Some parks around these lakes are also closed because of the high water.

If you do go out on the water, Corps officials are urging everyone spending time at the lakes to wear properly fitting life vests whenever they are near the water.
