After the switch to DTV happens, will all programming be broadcast in HDTV? I guess what I am asking is if the signal is in DTV format, is it also in HDTV format?

Not all programming will be in native HDTV. As time progresses, you will see more programming.

I have a battery-powered B&W television that I use if the power goes out during a bad storm. Will there be any way to utilize it once this digital conversion takes place? Also, I read on the internet that TV Sound radios won't work either. Is that true?

Any TV that does not have a DTV tuner will need a converter box. In your situation of the battery powered TV you will not be able to use it after June 12, 2009. Regarding the radio sound, it is true that will be going away also.

I was listening to your technician and I had a question about something I thought he said. If you have an analog TV when all broadcasting goes to HDTV will you be able to see your TV if you have it hooked to a cable box?

Thanks for your message. That is correct; a cable box will work for you with an analog TV. I would suggest that you call your cable company and see how long they will support that service after June 12, 2009.

I currently subscribe to a satellite provider and have two standard DVR systems in house. I also have a rooftop antenna, which I receive my local broadcast stations over the air, but not through satellite. My question is, would I need to have a converter box installed for my local channels to be received, or would I even have the need to keep my antenna and just have them broadcast through the dish?

The key is anything that is over the air will require a converter box. If you choose to receive DTV through your satellite provider, then you will not need a converter box. However if you choose to use your outside antenna, you will need a converter box or a DTV set. The same holds true for your DVR's, if you receive over the air, you will need a converter box, otherwise your satellite provider will provide what is necessary for DTV.
