Suspected Arsonist Arrested

Tulsa authorities arrested Nyesha Christel, a suspected serial arsonist, on Wednesday.

A suspected serial arsonist has been booked into the David L. Moss Correctional Facility. Fire investigators have been tracking 24-year-old Nyesha Christel for weeks, after someone set several fires near 21st and Garnett in Tulsa.

Nyesha Christel turned herself in Wednesday evening. Christel faces two charges of third-degree arson in connection to two vehicle fires. Tulsa Fire Captain Larry Bowles says Christel is also a suspect in several other fires that are under investigation.

He tells The News On 6 1st degree arson charges could be filed against Christel over her alleged involvement in an apartment fire and a house fire. Those fires reportedly occurred because of domestic dispute with an ex-boyfried. Those charges could be filed in federal court.
