A portion of South Boston Avenue in downtown Tulsa was switched to two-way traffic on Monday.

City of Tulsa officials say construction crews finished up striping Monday morning.  When that was done, traffic signals were uncovered and motorists were able to travel both north and south on Boston Avenue between 3 rd Street and 10 th Street.

Officials say the switch to two-way traffic marks substantial completion of this street and sidewalk improvement project on Boston Avenue. Remaining work will occur on the sides of the road and will not interfere with traffic.

Construction of the $5.5 million project funded by the 2001 Third Penny Sales Tax began in April 2006.  Officials say the project included replacement of water lines and storm sewers, street rehabilitation and conversion to two-way traffic.
